Spinach recall

There was an article I read back in September about the recall of Spinach from the states due to an e coli scare associated with that spinach... It's now December and although the article say to not buy such spinach until it is deemed save I have not heard another thing about this... when can I eat my spinach again?

It's interesting to see how quickly the media will jump all over a medical threat, but when that threat is over it is never mentioned to the public so the public will continue on in their paranoid delusion created by the media, fearing what they eat, drink, breathe, etc. In all fairness the media should report more on when a threat is over, not just when it is a threat.

This website is a good example of the media scaring the public... all the items were recalled but very few have follow up articles as to whether a product was later re-released or deemed safe. http://www.cbc.ca/consumer/recalls/

Beware of bagged fresh spinach from U.S., advisory warns

People should not eat bagged fresh spinach from the United States until further notice, a federal advisory is warning after an E. coli outbreak that has made more than 100 Americans sick.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is attempting to find the bacteria source that prompted the outbreak that started last week and has spread to at least 19 states.

The Public Health Agency of Canada reported that no illnesses have been reported in Canada due to the contaminated spinach.

The advisory issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said it was co-operating with the Public Health Agency, Health Canada and U.S. officials in the investigation.
Natural Selection Foods, LLC, of San Juan Bautista, Calif., has recalled all of its products that contain spinach in all the brands they pack with "Best if Used by Dates" of Aug. 17 through Oct. 1.

Consumption of food contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 bacteria may cause serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses.

People with compromised immune systems, young children and the elderly are at particular risk of developing serious complications. Individuals who experience symptoms of illness should contact their doctor.
