Flying Dolphins

These are a hydro-foil things with propellers and skis on them that I first heard about in a book I was reading. In the book they were cited as a means of transport from one island in Greece to another. Quite a neat concept.

Here's the Geek company that provides the service in the book

and wiki says:

"A hydrofoil is a boat with wing-like hydrofoils mounted on struts below the hull. As the craft increases its speed the hydrofoils develop enough lift to raise the hull up and out of the water. This results in a great reduction in drag and a corresponding increase in speed."
